The city is full of vibrant street art. There is an ongoing project that honors every rad women from A-Z and is inspired by a book by Kate Schatz and illustrated by Miriam Klein Stahl. The book has enlisted influential women in a chronological order and the street art experts are bringing the project to life by their art at Grand Rapids.

  1. Head to Meijer Sculpture Park

The Meijers were the most famous residents of Grand Rapids. They were deemed the huge benefactors and were the patrons of the arts. You can see their collection at the Meijer Sculpture Park. They have everything from Chihuly to the Leonardo’s Horse in American version. You may also see an indoor butterfly garden and a lot of holiday activities. Grand Rapids is a perfect place for foodies. No matter what diet and preferences you have, you will always have good food here and in an ample amount. If you want a good steak, then head to Butcher’s Union. This place serves classy means with brown leather booths, dim lights and cocktails. If you want to have casual snacks, then try the tacos at Donkey Taqueria. Have a pitcher of margaritas along. When it comes to taco options, try the braised pork belly, seared lamb and friend Brussels sprouts. For dessert, head to Sovengard on the basis of what is special in the season and also try popcorn sandwiches and ice cream sandwiches. For dinner, you can head to Yesterdog which was inspired by American Pie.

  1. Swim in Lake Michigan

This is the perfect weekend haunt. There is a beach where you can picnic and make the most of the nature around. Set up a beach chair and umbrella to enjoy. You can also head to Saugatuck Dunes State Park. It is also recommended to bring a change of clothes if you decide to swim in the lake.
